The conference “Trade Finance 2009: Untapped Markets”, held in Dakar, Senegal, July 7-9, brought together 21 export-ready companies, 12 financial institutions, 4 multilateral organizations and many other experts and stakeholders to discuss the challenges affecting access to finance across West Africa. The B2Bi investors’ forum facilitated one-on-one meetings for 9 bankers/investors and 15 export-ready companies (ERC); as a result negotiations commenced on potential funding opportunities and solid deal-making. Participants found as unique the opportunity to meet all members of the value chain and appreciated the presentations on innovative sources of financing.
