AfricaNow! at the New York International Gift Fair !

From the mellifluous sounds of djembe drums to the gritty feel of a handwoven bolga basket, from the rich textures of handmade ceramic pottery to the rainbow blast of beads made from recycled glass, West Africa’s home décor and fashion accessories products are coming to the New York International Gift Fair.
Under the AfricaNow! brand in 10 booths at the show, the products tell the stories of West Africa’s gifted artisans – their talents and their inspirations – mixing traditional African styles with contemporary ideas. AfricaNow! exporters bring a proven track record of professional production methods and delivery standards.Every product has a story. The emerging collaboration of producers, exporters, importers and buyers is a new story, empowering stakeholders who are building the industry.
The USAID West Africa Trade Hub has facilitated a unique collaboration of producers, exporters, importers and industry experts to identify, develop and deliver West Africa’s most exciting new products. The AfricaNow! brand logo is appearing across the show to signify the partners to this dynamic new collaboration, which is building toward an industry alliance. AfricaNow! has always meant great products – now it also represents a movement, a campaign to connect business to increase the international competitiveness of West Africa’s handcrafts industry.
