Shea business people around the world are gearing up for Shea 2012: Shared Value as online registration surged on its first day. More than 50 people registered for the event within 24 hours of opening of the registration. Shea 2012: Shared Value will take place April 23-27 in Cotonou, Benin - the fifth annual shea industry conference organized by the Global Shea Alliance and the USAID West Africa Trade Hub.

“Fludor is proud to be a part of the Global Shea Alliance and we are looking forward to helping Benin host an exciting conference in 2012," said Roland Riboux of Fludor, one of Benin's largest processors of shea nuts. A Global Shea Alliance team in Benin recently mapped out visits to industry sites in the country, which will include a visit to a Fludor facility and to the Kpendjari National Park in the country's north. Meanwhile, in Cote d'Ivoire, the Global Shea Alliance discussed the event with stakeholders  (picture).

"Shea 2012: Shared Value is the most important event of its kind in the world," said Eugenia Akuete, president of the Global Shea Alliance. "No other event can connect stakeholders as effectively and represents every level of the value chain. It is clearly a "must-attend"!"
