Cereals forum draws sector representatives from across Africa and Europe

More than 200 cereals sector stakeholders from West, East and Southern Africa, as well as several European countries, came together at a conference in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso at a forum organized by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), Nov. 29-Dec. 1. The Trade Hub contributed financially to the program, which included officials from the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). Bill Noble, the Hub’s Senior Value Chain Specialist and Kokou Zotoglo, the Hub’s Staple Crops Specialist shared with other experts, information on best practices in the cereals sector across Africa in order to develop a roadmap for policy-making to boost the regional cereals trade in West Africa.
